Property Exemptions

The Homestead exemption is for all homeowners who will be 65 or over anytime during the current tax year, who lives in their home and claim it as their primary residence. You must apply in person to the PVA and bring proof of age.

Disability exemption is for homeowners that receive benefits for total disability from a civil service agency.  This exemption is applied for annually in the month of December.  A person cannot receive both the Homestead and Disability exemption at the same time. 

The agricultural Use-Value exemption applies to qualifying farms with a least 10 contiguous acres devoted to agricultural pursuits.
